DOMINION RATIFIES CONTRACT - Affects 600 WV Workers

A new contract has been ratified by Dominion-Hope employees, which affects several regional employees, and nearly 1000 workers in five states and West Virginia.

Dominion is now one of the nation's biggest energy companies and serves about four million gas and electric customers.

The results of the vote have not been released by the Service Employees International Union, United Gas Workers' Local 69.

A union rep said the results we "not overwhelming."

Reports said the contract calls for a three percent wage increase, but some of that will help pay for medical costs for retirees.The contract may also insure job security for the next three years.

The contract affects about 600 workers in West Virginia.
