A kidnapping charge against Seth Denmark, 22, is still pending in Calhoun Circuit Court, a case that has resulted in young Denmark's parents also facing criminal charges.

The kidnapping case, linked to the alleged murder of teen David Wayne Beach, has likely been hampered because Beach's body has yet to be discovered.

The case unfolded in February, 2010, when Calhoun and Roane authorities went to the Denmark farm near Arnoldsburg with a search warrant looking for Beach's remains, missing since 2006.

Seth Denmark has been charged with kidnapping Roane County resident Veronica Cottrill and allegedly holding her at gunpoint while he buried Beach's body, according to a criminal complaint filed by lead investigator Cpl. Doug Starcher of the WV State Police.

Malicious assault and conspiracy charges against Seth Denmark, who is currently in Central Regional Jail, have been dismissed, according to special prosecutor Josh Downey.

Those charges are related to an earlier incident where Denmark and David Beach, the alleged murder victim, went to Jesses Run and shot Aaron Lloyd.

Downey said the charges have been dismissed because of technical issues, but could be refiled.

Since Beach's body was not found, court records say that police obtained a second search warrant in March, 2010 for a vehicle owned or used by Seth Denmark, saying that an informant stated that Denmark admitted to moving Beach's body from a grave in which he was allegedly buried.

Police obtained the vehicle, with authorities likely doing forensics that would connect Denmark with the murder of Beach. Reports of police finding DNA have not been confirmed.

All three members of the Denmark family have faced criminal charges related to the alleged kidnapping or the shooting of Lloyd, an earlier incident.

William Anthony Denmark, 58, Seth Denmark's father, was indicted for conspiracy to commit a felony. He was initially charged with conspiracy to inflict bodily injury.

That case has been set for a pre-trial hearing on January 31, 2011, and scheduled for trial on March 8, 2011. He is currently on home confinement.

Jackie Lynn Denmark, mother of William Seth Denmark and wife of William Anthony Denmark, was released from Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond last June and placed on home confinement. She had been charged with aiding and abetting kidnapping, allegedly committed by her son.

Jackie Denmark is no longer on home confinement, with the status of her charges unclear.
