(11/18/2010)
Glenville, WV - Glenville State College sophomore Cody Grogg has received the American Future Farmers of America Degree, the highest award in Future Farmers of America [FFA].

Grogg grew up on a farm in Gilmer County and graduated from Gilmer County High School in 2009. For his FFA project he raised beef cattle.

"It is an honor to receive this award. FFA has truly prepared me for all my studies at GSC," said Grogg.

Future Farmers of America was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population and they taught this nation that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting - it is a science, a business and an art.

FFA students have gone on to be biologists, chemists, veterinarians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and many more careers that help better agriculture in America.
