MACK SAMPLE'S 'DARK HOLLOWS' LATEST BOOK

(02/19/2010)

"The Dark Hollows of West Virginia," a new novel by Mack Samples, is on sale at bookstores, craft and gift shops throughout West Virginia.

It will be available at The Towne Book Store on Main Street in Glenville. This is Mack's eighth book and they have all been good sellers.

"Dark Hollows" is the fictitious story of a shocking double homicide in a small West Virginia town and the ensuing investigation by the county sheriff.

While the story and characters are fictitious, real life counterparts could be found in the headlines of West Virginia's state and local newspapers on about any given day.

Readers in all of the rural counties and small towns of West Virginia will be trying to fit the characters of the book into a real person whom they really know, or know about.

All of the suspects in the murders are prominent men who enjoy the admiration, respect, and privilege of their community. But how far does that privilege extend, and what kind of men are they really?

What secrets are harbored in the Dark Hollows where they live? As Sheriff Caleb McKee works the case, he shockingly learns that many of his old friends and peers led "lives of quiet desperation." But he diligently pursues the case until its conclusion.

Mack Samples (pictured right) currently lives in Clay County but was a long time resident of the Troy District in Gilmer County, a well-known writer, musician and columnist.

In addition to being available at Towne Book Store for $12.95, the book can also be ordered from West Virginia Book Company at 1125 Central Ave, Charleston, WV 25302 or 304-342-1848. The cost with tax and shipping is $18.22.
