BUCK KILL EXPECTED TO BE SAME AS 2009

The West Virginia DNR says it's expecting hunters to kill about the same number of bucks during the upcoming gun season as they did last year, with a slight increase. DNR's Curtis Taylor says the antlerless harvest could be a little higher than last year, when hunters took 54,414 antlerless deer. DNR is discounting the effect of the harsh weather last winter. The two-week gun season for bucks opens Nov. 22 and runs through Dec. 4.
