CHILI COOK-OFF & PIE CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Roydice Williams and Shane Steigleder tied for first place in a men's chili cook-off, held Sunday at the Brooksville Baptist Church, Family Life Center. Chris Hall took the second place spot.

Chili was judged on aroma, consistency, color, taste and aftertaste.

In the fruit pie division of the women's contest, Donna Cain took first place for her cherry pie; Gloria Stevens won second place with raisin pie; and Sophia Steigleder and Tami Allen tied for 3rd place with apple pies.

Susan Carper took 1st place in the cream pie division for her peanut butter pie; Debbie King won 2nd place with apple cheese cake; and Kristen Garrett tied with herself for 3rd place with her pumpkin and peanut butter pie entries.

Pies were judged on presentation, texture and consistency, crust, taste and aftertaste.

Winners received baskets filled with an array of gifts.

All chili and pie entries were available to eat by those attending the event after judging was complete.
