UPPER WEST FORK RAMP DINNER NETS $3000 - Bluegrass Festival Slated For August |

The ramp dinner at the Upper West Fork Park raised about $3000 on April 13, with
more fund raisers in the works, according to secretary Sharon Settle. Three special bluegrass events are scheduled on May 31, June 1-2 as a fund raisers for the park. The popular Fireman's Bluegrass Festival will be held again this year at the Upper West Fork Park on August 8-10. The annual Octoberfest is also scheduled again for October 5. Settle's said the officers and board members of the Upper West Fork Park would like to thank the many people who have helped in many different ways. The group has already installed 15 camper hook-ups, a new ball field, septic system, put carpet on the inside stage and built a new outside stage, among other improvements. The community building is used year 'round, according to Settles, for 4-H, day programs, birthday parties, shows, receptions and reunions. "Sometimes we have a problem with cleaning up," she said. There is a $30 fee for using the park building. Rental can be obtained by calling Betty Metz at 655-8566. Sonny Lowers is in charge of $5 camper hook-ups at 655-8563. "We always need volunteer help at the park," said Settles. "We really want to make this a community center, and a place for our kids and grand kids." The current officers:
