Mr. Stuart Eugene Pratt, 80, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away October 21, 2010 peacefully at Valley Center, South Charleston, after an extended illness, just two days after the passing of his beloved wife of 46 years, Gloria West Pratt.He was born in Charleston a son of the late Stuart Mansfield and Hazel Belle Embry Pratt. During his life, he worked at White Haines Optical Co., where he met and fell in love with his wife, Coffman Optical Co., Blue Ridge Optical Co. and Greenbrier Vision Center. Mr. Pratt was a Methodist, a graduate of Charleston High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Surviving relatives include children, Stuart Kyle Pratt of High Point NC, Kevin Alan Pratt of Staten Island NY, Gregory Doyle Moss of Babson Park FL and Cheryl Ann Moss Holbrook of Charleston; grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Moss of Babson Park, Mrs. Jennifer Hudson Greene of Eure NC; great grandchildren, Jenna and Charlotte Greene of Eure. The family wishes to thank, Dr. John Lilly and staff, Drs. Namay and Namay, the compassionate staff at Valley Center of South Charleston, both CAMC and Thomas Hospitals, Rev. Wayne Harrison and the caring staff of Hospice of W.Va. for the wonderful care and concern they have shown our family member. A joint funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Pratt will be held Sunday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Donald R. Keller officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover, W.Va. Friends may call Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
