Calhoun High School, Lady Red Devils participated in the Irish Invitational hosted by Charleston Catholic High School on Saturday, October 16.

Calhoun was undefeated in pool play defeating Gilmer County, Teays Valley Christian and Ravenswood to advance out of pool play as the number three seed of the twelve team tournament. In the quarter finals, Calhoun defeated Cross Lanes Christians before falling to Greater Beckley Christian in the semi-finals.

Calhoun defeated Gilmer 16-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Rochelle Grewig led the team in service points with 10 points, 3 aces; followed by Ashley Houchin 9 points, 2 aces; Karissa Reip 6 points, 3 aces; Amber Wilford 3 points, 1 ace; Jordan Mace 2 points, 1 ace; Samantha Church 2 points, 1ace; and Michelle Hall 1 point. Calhoun will celebrate Senior Night on Tuesday, October 19 when they host their last home match of the season. The Lady Red Devils will host Ravenswood, Williamstown and Clay County in a varsity quad. Senior night recognition will begin at 5:50 p.m. with play immediately following.
