Rev. Clarice J. Daniel Smith, 76 - Upper Glade

Rev. Clarice J. Daniel Smith, 76, of Upper Glade passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Saxon, a daughter of the late Arthur and Annabelle Stevens Milam.

Clarice was a retired United Methodist minister with more than 30 years of service, a member of the United Methodist Women, a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 165, Camden on Gauley, and Rebekah Lodge No. 105, Cowen.

Surviving are her husband, John Smith of Upper Glade; children, Randall (Marilyn) Daniel of Charleston, Phillip (Renee) Daniel of Fairmont, Teresa (Mike) Ritchie of Grantsville, Gregory (Leslie) Daniel of Thorton, and Gerald (Sarah) Daniel of Circleville, Ohio; stepchildren, Leonard (Lori Smith of Morgantown, Robert (Pam) Smith of Maidsville, and Loretta (Dave) Price of Maidsville; brother, Arthur (Sharon) Milam of Glen Daniels; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Gerald T. Daniel; brother, Richard Milam; and sisters, Lois Harper, Martha (Betty) Lang and Naomi Harper.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with the Rev. Mark Flynn and the Rev. Phil Hickman officiating.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the funeral home.
