First, I would like to apologize for being so behind in my article. I appreciate those that have continued to be my fans. Your kind words mean so much to me. They have been truly inspirational.

The RCHS Band has been traveling all over the state and showing the world what they got. They have been working really hard and have been receiving well-deserved awards for their efforts. I am especially proud of them for sticking together and showing their support for our Rebels at the Lincoln game even if only from the stands. Due to some lack of communication, we were unaware until our arrival we would be unable to perform. Needless to say, our band rocked on as best as they could.

Normally, I just bring basic information about the previous football games. However, this week I must comment on some situations that have come up concerning some of the sports staff members. In my opinion (as you are aware I will have one), I feel some are taking a bad wrap. It is true I don't know all the facts, but, I don't think everyone else does either. Therefore, perhaps we need to think positively before we draw unfair conclusions. I will say this; I have seen some pretty questionable calls this season. I think there were times we were going to lose before we even showed up. That's how some places operate.

Yes, it's unfair and it makes us lose the game. But, is it fair to say that the loss was because of lack of coaching? I don't think so. I also feel that those who say, "I can do a better than that" or "I would never let that happen" are a little ahead of their game. One really doesn't know how they would handle a situation until they are actually in it. It's easy to judge from the sidelines. With all that being said, I hope that you can resolve this peacefully and with maturity. I am officially getting off my sports soapbox now.

I need to remind all those moms and dads about Creed Collins' PTO meetings. We will be having our next meeting November 9 at 6:30 pm in the gym. We all had a good time at the last meeting and hope you will come out for the next one. We have all new officers this year with new ideas to make the school year a successful and eventful one. We definitely need to thank the previous officers for working so hard and helping the students have memorable elementary events. We also need to thank Angela Trammell for being our parent partner for the school. She has been a life saver countless times. We are grateful for her help. We also need to give a big thanks to Mr. Laugh for his support and patience.

As you know, Halloween is right around the corner. I am unsure of dates for Trick-or-Treat. But, I will try to get those posted next week.

We need to send out happy anniversary wishes to Mike and Diana Taylor. Happy anniversary guys!

Congratulations go out to Annie and Joey Sellers for the birth of their new son. Congratulations also go out to Jeremiah Sellers for becoming a big brother. We know he will be great at his new job.

Happy birthday goes out to my mom, Edna Robinson of Calhoun County. I believe she is one of the greatest moms and grandmas ever. I wish it didn't take me so long to realize how much I loved and appreciated her. Happy birthday Mom!

I hope everyone has a great week. Be safe.
