GLENVILLE STATE FOOTBALL TEAM MEMBERS ARRESTED - Drug Charges Issued Against Five

Five Glenville State College football players landed in court following arrests made last week on drug charges.

Gilmer County Sheriff's deputies Larry Gerwig and Cason Jones were leaving the Courthouse Annex when they smelled marijuana and witnessed the five players smoking.

One of the players, Thaddeus Anthony Jones, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, with intent to deliver.

Police said Jones had an amount of the controlled substance on his person, as well as $2,800 in cash, and was reportedly taken to Central Regional Jail.

Michael Bernard Davis, Davon Marguet Gales, Darren Jherell Thomas. and Jordan Michael Marcum, were charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams.

Glenville State College has not released a statement regarding the status of the football players.
