COUNTY'S BUDGET CRISIS - Elected Officials, County Employees Will Discuss Problems

(10/19/2010)
The Calhoun Commission has scheduled a special meeting with the county's elected officials and county employees to discuss current budget problems and what has been termed a severe budget crisis with the 2010-11 budget.

The meeting is set for 4 p.m. TODAY in the little courtroom of the Calhoun Courthouse. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will focus on how problems will affect the budgets of elected officials and county employees.

The issues to be discussed range from budget cuts and benefit reductions to layoffs.

The county has 14 employees, not including 911, which is essentially funded by state money.
