RITCHIE MAN WHO INJURED TROOPER SENTENCED TO ONE YEAR

(10/08/2010)
Ritchie County resident Jesse Parsons (left) will spend a year behind bars for his role in an accident that critically injured State Police Corporal Andy Pringle while he was making a traffic stop in Ritchie County.

Parsons entered a guilty plea Thursday in Ritchie County, a case that had been scheduled for a change of venue.

Ritchie County Prosecutor Judy McCullough said Parsons pleaded guilty to DUI causing injuries and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle causing injury.

Parsons will report to the North Central Regional Jail on November 15 to serve a one year sentence on the DUI plea.

After his release from jail, Parsons will serve a 90 day home confinement sentence.

Police said last April, Parsons was driving drunk when he struck the officer.

Cpl. Pringle was hospitalized for months and is still recuperating.
