SIMONTON WINDOWS MOVING CORPORATE OFFICE TO COLUMBUS - Parkersburg Community Job Loss 63, Ritchie Plant Unaffected

(10/07/2010)
Simonton Windows is announcing they will be moving their corporate office in Parkersburg to Columbus OH sometime next year.

The move will reportedly mean a job loss of 63 to the Parkersburg community.

The Ritchie County window maker will continue operations as usual at their factory site, according to Simonton spokesperson Marty Davis. "We still remain very committed to West Virginia," Davis said. "This is where our roots are."

The company's press release said the move will put the company's main headquarters in a more central location and give it better oversight of its various manufacturing facilities as well as more direct contact with its primary customers.

Simonton has employer a considerable number of Calhoun and regional workers.
