WIRT AND WOOD WILL GET SOME HELP TO CLEAR STREAMS AFTER STORM

(10/06/2010)
Wirt and Wood counties will be receiving some state assistance to address stream damage caused by a tornado and severe storms that struck the area in September.

The area will receive $437,500 to pay for debris removal and stream remediation.

The destruction of 16 homes and damage to about 40 others did not qualify for federal disaster assistance.
