CLARKSBURG'S FBI CENTER GETTING $142 MIL EXPANSION - 2000 Additional Jobs In The Works

Turner Construction Co. has landed a $142 million contract to build a Biometrics Technology Center at the FBI complex in Clarksburg. The complex, which employees about 2,500 people, is the legacy of Senator Robert Byrd. The 360,000 square-foot, four-story building will nearly double the size of the Criminal Justices Information Services Division. When finished, it will accommodate nearly 2,000 new employees. Sen. Jay Rockefeller says the expansion lets the FBI and the Department of Defense create new, good-paying jobs for West Virginia and builds on the state's growing biometrics industry.
