The Calhoun High School Lady Red Devils hosted Gilmer County Thursday, September 23.

The JV defeated Gilmer 25-21, 23-25, 25-12. Stephanie Hall led the team in service points with 13 points, 3 aces; followed by Autumn Blair 9 points, 5 aces; Chelsea Hicks 9 points, 1 ace; Megan Barton 7 points, 2 aces; Shayla Arnold 6 points, 3 aces; Amanda Carter 3 points, Bailie Cain 2 points. Setting: Hicks 43/48, 14 assists; Hall 16/17, 4 assists. Hitting: Hall 23/25, 6 kills; Arnold 12/14, 5 kills; Carter 10/12, 4 kills; Barton 6/8, 3 kills; Cain 2/3.

The Varsity defeated Gilmer 25-22, 25-18, 25-18. Ashley Houchin and Jordan Mace led Calhoun in service points with 14 points, 1 ace each; followed by Amber Wilford 7 points, 2 aces; Michelle Hall 6 points, 1 ace; Karissa Reip 5 points, 1 ace; Rochelle Gerwig 2 points. Setting: Houchin 86/88, 26 assists. Hitting: Wilford 38/40 15 kills; Gerwig 14/15, 4 kills; Mace 13/15, 4 kills; Reip 8/10, 3 kills; Samantha Church 4/4, Kenzie Laughlin 2/2. Blocks: Wilford 4, Houchin 2, Mace 1, Reip 1. Digs: Reip 8, Houchin 6, Laughlin 4, Mace 2, Hall 2.

Calhoun varsity travels to Parkersburg Catholic on Monday, September 27 for a tri with Parkersburg Catholic and St. Marys.

Both JV and Varsity will be in action again on Thursday, Sept. 30 when they host South Harrison. JV play begins at 6:00 p.m.
