By Kelley Houchin The Calhoun County Varsity Volleyball team hosted a home quad on Tuesday, September 21. Calhoun defeated Parkersburg Catholic 25-14, 25-21 in the opening match. Ashley Houchin led the team with 11 service points, 4 aces; followed by Karissa Rep 6 points, Jordan Mace 5 points, 1 ace; Amber Wilford 5 points, 1 ace; Rochelle Gerwig 2 points, 1 ace. Setting: Houchin 29/30, 14 assists; Hitting: Wilford 11/11, 6 kills; Gerwig 5/6, 4 kills; Mace 4/4, 1 kill; Reip 3/3, 1 kill; Kenzie Laughlin 4/4, 1 kill; Samantha Church 1/1, 1 kill. Blocks: Wilford 1. Digs: Laughlin 2, Reip 1, Michelle Hall 2. In their second match of the night Calhoun defeated Braxton 25-14, 25-19. Houchin led with 17 service points, 6 aces; followed by: Mace 13 points, 5 aces; Wilford 2 points, 2 aces. Setting: Hocuhin 49/50, 17 assists. Hitting: Wilford 21/22, 9 kills; Gerwig 10/11, 3 kills; Reip 5/6, 3 kills; Mace 4/5, 1 kill; Laughlin 3/3, 1 kill, Church 2/2. Blocks: Houchin 1, Mace 1, Wilford 1. Digs: Reip 3, Laughlin 2, Houchin 2, Hall 3. In the night cap, Calhoun defeated Roane 25-13, 25-7.
