MOLASSES FESTIVAL KING & QUEEN CONTESTANTS ANNOUNCED

2009 Molasses Festival Royalty were King Ethan Jarvis, son
of Travis and Felicia Jarvis of Chloe and Queen Shelby
Clawson, daughter of Richard and Brenda Clawson of Arnoldsburg.

Eleven boys and 12 girls will compete in the 43rd Annual West Virginia Molasses Festival King and Queen contest, set for September 23-25 at Arnoldsburg.

The crowning ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 23rd at the West Fork Community Action Park in Arnoldsburg.

Contestants are all students at Arnoldsburg Elementary school and are chosen on a penny-a-vote basis.

King contestants are, Austin Badgett, Steven Patterson, Caden Jones, Dillion Murphy, Wyatt Gainer, Jacob Bowers, Jarrett Allen, Bryson Montgomery, Hunter Helmick, Stanley Armstong, and Caleb White. Contestants for Queen are, Trista Arnold, Lindsay Smith, Brooklyn Swisher, Madison Westfall, Josey Montgomery, Lexi Gregory, Madelynn Adkins, Breeanna Bowers, Emily Nary, Cassidy Conley, Josey Manns, and Ashley Allen.
