ELKINS MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER - Steven Mark Clemens Jr., 25, of Elkins, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after he stabbed a man on an Elkins street, August 31.

In a written statement to police, the victim, not identified, says that he and a few friends were walking down an alley behind Gino's Pizza when Clemens allegedly walked up behind them and said he wanted to fight.

The victim claims that he turned around to confront him, and Clemens swung a fist at him. He says he did swing back at Clemens, and at some point Clemens pulled out a knife and cut him from his ear down to his chin.

He was taken to Davis Memorial Hospital.

Clemens is being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $500,000.00 cash only bond.
