HEARTWOOD MASKMAKING CLASS NOW ON FRIDAY EVENINGS

Hearwood in the Hills Fall Program of classes includes a twelve week maskmaking class with Artistic Director Jude Binder.

During the course of the class students will create a tarlatan mask as seen in Heartwood productions. The class is open to teens, adults and seniors. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult helper.

The first step in tarlatan mask making is the creation of a plaster positive (model) of your face. The first class will be a Plaster of Paris workshop on Saturday, September 11, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the workshop, positives will be made for all students. Please call Heartwood 304-354-7874 and ask for a materials list of supplies to bring for the workshop.

All remaining mask making classes will be held on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. These classes will last anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, depending on the activity of the evening. Special attendance arrangements can be made for students traveling far. It will be possible for students to do some work at home. Fee for the class is $75 for the twelve weeks, plus a $15 materials fee.
