WALMART WV'S BIGGEST EMPLOYER 12 YEARS RUNNING

Walmart Stores remain WV's largest employer for 12 years running. Before the globalization of manufacturing jobs abroad, several manufacturing concerns were the largest employers. West Virginia United Health System remains the second largest private employer, followed by Charleston Area Medical Center. Kroger and American Electric Power held the same spots in 2009. According to Walmart's website, the retailer employs 12,420 in West Virginia.
