John N. Saunders, 78 - Spencer

John N. Saunders, 78, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born February 11, 1932 in Kanawha County, a son of the late Emmett E. and Icie E. Summers Saunders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Areita Falkenrich; a stepdaughter, Donna Comedi; a stepson, Glen Bennett; two brothers, Richard and Jimmy Saunders; three sisters, Betty Jo Saunders, Elcie Wittington and Mary Hamilton. John was a retired industrial X-ray technician and a retired employee of Babcock & Wilcox, Barberton, Ohio. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 900, Barberton, Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Louise Saunders of Spencer; a daughter, Deloris Bell of Akron, Ohio; three stepsons, Othel Bennett and Dale Bennett both of Barberton, Ohio and Allen Bennett of Alabama; five brothers, Kermit Saunders of Spencer, Charlie Saunders of Charleston, Kenneth Saunders, Bill Saunders and Bobby Saunders all of Ohio; two sisters, Lena Kipp of Ohio and Carolyn Sue McClanahan of Nitro; three grandchildren, several step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. John Meadows officiating. Burial will be in the Husk Cemetery, Husk Ridge, Calhoun County. Friends may Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
