MANCHIN AND RAESE TOP CALHOUN PRIMARY FOR US SENATOR

The interest in the special primary election for US Senator was underwhelming. Voter turn-out in Calhoun was 11.8%. Joe Manchin III lead the Democrats with 279 voters, followed by Ken Heckler with 96 and Sheirl Flecher with 61. John Raese led the Republican ticket with 136 votes, followed by Mac Warner with 14. All the other Republican candidates received six votes or less. Jesse Johnson, the Mountain Party, received 3 votes.
