Charter Cable Company will be upgrading some services in Elizabeth, Glenville, Grantsville and Spencer, according to Nikki Parks, a marketing coordinator in Parkersburg.

The Grantsville and Glenville area cable system will have digital TV service available in late summer, bringing digital channels, premium channels and pay-per-view.

The Grantsville or Glenville systems will not have internet capability with Charter's service upgrade, although it is now available in the Elizabeth system. Internet/modem service is expected to be available in Spencer by December, 2001.

Charter Digital Direct is both a wired cable/small dish system which is being promoted throughout their cable system, providing basic cable services and several satellite options.

Charter has no specific plans to expand their cable lines in Calhoun or other rural areas in the region.
