| Audra Inez Ackley, 95, of Lottridge Community, Guysville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Aug. 16, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 4, 1915, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Della Pierce Church.
Audrey was retired from Athens Mental Health Center as a supervisor with 30 years of service. She loved to sew, quilt and travel. She and her late husband, Pete, had lived in the Lottridge area since 1929 and were instrumental in the establishment of the Lottridge Seniors Association and the Lottridge Senior Center. She was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by two sons, Carl E. Ackley and wife, Karen, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Richard "Dick" M. Ackley and wife, Sue, of Midlothian, Va.; two grandchildren, Lezlie Ryan of Fairfax, Va., and Matthew Ackley of Lorton, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Hanna and Rachel Sacks and Elizabeth Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice "Pete" D. Ackley; three sisters, Bethel Church, Ruby Lockhart and Velma Arnett; five brothers, Earl, Ray, Ernest, Burley and Harry Church; and one half-brother, William Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Monte McCune officiating. Services will conclude with burial in Carthage Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
