John W. Starcher 39, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away August 8, 2010.

He was the son of the late Jesse and Bethel Starcher.

He was a 1990 graduate of Wirt County High School and was employed by the Wirt County Board of Education for 10 years. He was an active member of the Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Department for 13 years.

John was an antique car enthusiast, he enjoyed restoring cars, and car shows. He loved riding his motorbike and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Andra Kelley of Parkersburg WV and Lori Starcher of Elizabeth; 1 brother, Duke Starcher of Florida; nieces and nephews, Justin Starcher of Parkersburg WV, Andrew Starcher II of Baltimore Maryland; Jessica Starcher, and Kenton Turner both of Elizabeth, Jessie Starcher of Tennessee, Christopher Starcher, and John Nelson both of Florida; and 2 very special friends that he loved like a mother and father Larry and Carole Menefee.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew "Butch" Starcher.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday August 12 at the Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Department. Interment will be at Merrill Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday August 11 from 2-9 p.m. at the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department.
