FRANCIS CAIN'S DEER HUNTIN' SHED STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

Another storm came across the region yesterday afternoon, without the high wind, but dumping up to one and one-half inches of rain.

There was some serious lightning, including a strike at the Francis Cain Farm at Big Bend, burning a small shed to the ground.

The shed has been the location where hundreds of deer hunters posted themselves over the years for the annual hunt.

Thursday's storm caused several thousand West Virginians to be without electric, but few problems were reportedly locally.

Allegheny Power says only nine households are without power Thursday night in Calhoun.

Grantsville firemen were responding to a tree-powerline fire on Browser Road about 11 p.m. Thursday.
