STORM AND WIND SWEEPS ACROSS COUNTY - Some Without Power Wednesday Night

A thunderstorm with some heavy wind swept across parts of Calhoun Wednesday evening causing loss of power to about 200 households, according to Allegheny Power.

Power-lines were reported down on Altizer Rd. and Rowels Run.

Some phone service was also disrupted.

At 10 p.m. Wednesday, the power company reported households without power in Roane, 400; Gilmer, 127 and Ritchie, 45.

Calhoun's E-911 Center received some reports of trees down on the highway.

In Wheeling, the high wind toppled all three of the legendary WWVA radio towers, the state's only 50,000 watt AM station.
