The Big Eared one is going to have a big birthday party in Chicago for his friends and buddies. The cost of admission is $30,000/person. It would seem that his pals are exempt from the redistribution of wealth.

Hillary Clinton's daughter is to marry soon. The Clintons, who were always "championing the poor & downtrodden" are going to spend $2 million on the nuptials although some believe that campaign contributors will pick up the tab. Some feel she is waiting for the Luo tribesman to slip up so she can ascend. According to reports George Soros, the international money man who had backed the big eared one picked the tap for the nuptials which fuels rumors that Her Thighness is planning on a run in '12.

Doris Hertz, age 82, passed away in Parkersburg after a fight with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a daughter of Will & Yettive Webb of Yellow Creek. She was a great-grand daughter of Jonathan & Malinda Boggs dePue.

Local folks are getting ready for the Wirt County Fair which starts on Wednesday. There are activities for everyone ending up with he big mud bog on Saturday. The final fair board meeting was held Sunday evening on last minute details.

The Creston Homecoming will be Sunday, August 15 at the Creston Community Building. All former Creston residents, those who wished they were Crestonites and those who are just curious are invited to come and spend the afternoon. For those who are geographically impaired, Creston is on W. Va. 5 halfway between Elizabeth & Grantsville & the Community Building is located on Ann's Run road just off the main road and there are now road markers.

Charles Russell was among the local residents who attended the Methodist church picnic at North Bend State Park. Rev. Carlos Nutter brought the message and he & Rev. Keith Belt served Holy Communion.

John Bingman, W. Harrison Schenerlein IV & Charles Russell were among those calling on Euell Russell at the Miletree Center.

Dean Miller got some fine second cutting hay up.

Investors Business Dailey reported that GE spent $9.5 million lobbying for cap & trade in 3 months and has spent over $17.6 million on the effort since January to shut down coal mines & oil wells and have taxpayer funded windmills. Some years back Enron was pushing the same agenda & then Bush was elected and the whole thing crashed. Enron is now back operating under another name and GE, like BP have been practicing 'crony capitalism' with the Big Eared One & his buddies, including George Soros. Now Broadway Joe wants to go to Washington to help them.

In Spain which bought into the "green jobs scam," 2.2 jobs were destroyed for each new 'green job'. One can imagine the scenario in W. Va. but, no doubt, a good spin will be put on the results by G E's media arm NBC.

Oil thieves have been busy in the area.

As a point of information Wetzel County leads the state in oil production while Calhoun is #8. Wyoming County leads the state in natural gas production followed by McDowell and Kanawha Counties.

The price of local Penn grade crude rose 75 cents/bbl to $72.50.
