I know it's been a while, I've been on a few trips to Leivasy where Heather lives. It's like being in the forest.

Ben, Heather, the girls, their friend Dave and I went swimming in the Cranberry river. There are huge flat rocks under the surface. I could stand on one up to my neck in water and clearly see my feet. The water was so clean and clear. Ben and Heather snorkeled. Past those flat boulders the water was 25-35 feet deep. Wild, wonderful WV. No trash on the rivers shore.

I've canned 28 1/2 quarts of green beans, cut cabbage and layered it with salt in an old stone churn. Next I'll pickle beets. I'm still using a l951 no. 7 Presto canner, Mother and Daddy bought it the year I was born. Sure is a good one.

My cat was run over here on Rt. 16 in front of the house. Now I'm left with a little tomcat. He hunts mice, moles, bills bats but doesn't eat them. Also he catches butterflies and eats them. He'll be a good cat after he gets over jumping on the window sills and breaking things.

Dog days are something else. It's been raining off and on every day and has been quite hot.

Blaine King comes by to visit and have coffee with me.

Charles Haverty stopped by for a short visit.

Jeanie Rogers plays dominoes with me from time to time. It was nice meeting her friend Shawna and her daughter Vennese from Florida.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
