Hundreds came to Wirt Courthouse for vigil

A Wirt County pastor said the community had been visited by the death angel, with the tragic deaths of four members of the Cunningham family in a car crash at Mineral Wells and at least three other individuals well-known to the community who have passed.

Hundreds came to the lawn of the Wirt courthouse Monday evening for the candlelight vigil.

"It's a time to remember how precious life is," said one clergyman.

A number of area ministers quoted scripture to inspire and comfort those who are feeling loss.

There was barely a parking place in the small town of Elizabeth.

Rev. Delmas Stutler reminded those attending the vigil, that it was for them, saying it speaks well for residents of WV's smallest county that people care about their neighbors.
