Gov. Joe Manchin has announced 13 projects totaling $806,175.59 for energy efficiency projects in the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council coverage area.

The Calhoun Commission will receive an $85,401 grant that will replace high-energy air-conditioning window units with five split-system unit cooling systems.

The project will be funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"Reducing energy use in city and county government facilities means energy cost savings," Gov. Manchin said.

The Roane County Commission is receiving a $197,140 grant to replace courthouse glass in all windows and glass doors with low-E insulated, glazed glass. The current HVAC systems in the lobby and county office areas will also be replaced.
