MILDRED WYER - Grantsville

Mildred Wyer, 80, of Grantsville, WV, died Sunday, April 7 in Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division.

Born at Annamoriah, WV, she was a daughter of the late Dudley and Arizona Miller Metz. She was a former employee of Rubber Fabricators of Grantsville, Health haven of manchester, Ohio and was a nurses aid at Barberton Citizens Hospital, Barberton, Ohio.

Surviving are two sons, Noel Walker and Don Walker both of Akron, Ohio; three daughters, Virginia Ford of Copley, Ohio, Janet Walker of Big Bend, WV and Sue Swisher of Nobe, WV; two brothers, Lennie Metz of Five Forks, WV and Bernard Metz of Akron; 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Poe Walker and her second husband, William Wyer; an infant son; 2 sisters, Opal Simmers and Hildred Curry; 3 brothers, Victor, Ronzel and Chester Metz; 2 half brothers, Bill and Kenneth Metz and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Reverend Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
