Chief Deputy Carl Ballengee said the driver left State Route 5 and crashed "head-on with a tree," at Cabot Station, west of Grantsville. The 17-year-old driver, identified as Eric Johnson, reportedly had a broken leg. Johnson and his mother, Jennifer Southall, were taken to Charleston Area Medical Center, both still under evaluation Thursday night, according to a hospital spokesperson. Southall was reportedly suffering from problems related to a back injury. Brady Johnson, age 14, was being treated at Minnie Hamilton Health System.
