Responders give care to accident victim

A Letherbark, Calhoun man received serious injuries Wednesday evening when his car left US 33-119 on the "Letherbark Straight" and struck a deep drainage ditch, after which the vehicle catapulted from the ravine.

Joey McCune, reportedly in his 30s, was life-flighted to Charleston Area Medical Center after the 7 p.m. accident, reportedly suffering from multiple fractures and other injuries.

Car crashed into ravine and then jumped onto driveway

Calhoun and Roane County EMS responded to the scene with the Arnoldsburg VFD, extracting McCune from the vehicle.

State Police are investigating.
