ENERGY SAVING REBATES AVAILABLE FOR APPLIANCES IN WV

(07/06/2010)
Two weeks into an energy saving program, West Virginia's Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program is attracting some attention.

Although not widely publicized, about about 1,200 people are seeking rebates totaling just over $100,000.

About 90 WV stores are participating.

Rebates are from $20 to $100.

Under the program, more than $1.7 million in federal stimulus money is being given to state residents who buy energy-efficient appliances such as refrigerators, clothes washers and dishwashers.

The Department of Environmental Protection is administering the West Virginia Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program.
