BUSY EMERGENCY SERVICES DAY - Calls Answered Around The County

(04/07/2002)
It was a busy emergency services day for new 911 dispatcher Joe Tanner of Arnoldsburg. In the middle of a "working code" on Yellow Creek and what sounded like a heart attack up on Oka, a two-car accident at Broomstick sent a 20-year-old driver to the hospital.

Tanner stayed on top of it. "It was a great 'breaking in' shift," he said.

The collision was minor and the victim reportedly received some minor injuries to the head. Sheriff Allen Parsons is investigating.

Calhoun EMS was busy around the county, and the Grantsville VFD answered three calls, two to a burning wood pile on White Pine and assistance to the minor accident at Broomstick.

Other county VFD members gave assistance.
