ONE DEAD IN CHARLESTON SHOOTING - A Charleston man will be charged with first-degree murder and malicious wounding after he reportedly went into a West Side home and shot two brothers, killing one.

Charleston police said they planned to arrest Charles Christopher Poore, 22, of Charleston as soon as he was released from Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital.

Poore reportedly shot Robert Veltri, 22, in the head and Antonio Veltri, 18, in the arm yesterday afternoon.

The West Side has been a hot spot for several shootings this year.

Damion Blaney, 14, was shot and killed April 12 in front of Glenwood Elementary School.

Two people were wounded by gunfire on May 5.

BOY HAMMERS SHOTGUN SHELL - One of two boys playing with shotgun shells was injured in Beckley after the other struck the ammunition with a hammer.

The juveniles were playing with shotgun shells.

The injured youth was struck in the side.
