Welcome back to Beason…I must warn you to look out for the deer. It seems they have multiplied over night and are now appearing everywhere.

Congratulations go out to Sara and Chris Doak on their new baby girl, Olivia. Welcome to the world Olivia!

My buddy Shane and I went to see the Side Fx band in Glenville on Saturday night. They were really good. I thought they did music that would please everyone. I urge you to go out and see them and support the artists of this great state.

Praise Photography of Calhoun County is offering 1 free senior session to a 2011 senior of Ritchie County. This session will include: the sitting fee, up to 5 outfit changes, online proofs and 1 8x10. I've seen her work and I was very impressed. If you are interested in this, please contact me. I will be happy to give you further information.

A belated Happy Birthday goes out to Miss Emily Ferrell. We hope you had a great day.

We made it all the way to today without the kids fighting. I don't know why they picked today to take a turn for the worst. It's going to be a long summer if this continues. However, I guarantee this will not continue. I have threatened that they lose their beach vacation and that stops them for about 5 minutes. I'm going to break out the big guns and threaten to send them to Grandma Edna's for the summer. Then, they are going to be best friends with the garden when they could've been just friends with each other. I don't know about you, but, I would pick my brother over the garden any day.

The Calhoun County High School Class of '86 is planning their 25th reunion. If you are interested in attending or sharing your ideas, let me know. It is just in the infancy stages as of now. I know there are Ritchie County folks that have graduated from Calhoun.

The Ritchie County Rebels have had some 7 on 7 events lately. I had no clue as to what that meant. I am so glad I have Asst. Coach Luke Weekley to help me out on the complicated definitions of such events. Come on out and support your home team. I can't wait for football season. I love it! I always go to the Ritchie-Calhoun game and it's always the hardest on me. I never know what side to sit on. I want to be supportive of my new home team and my old home team. So, sometimes I cure that confusing dilemma by standing in the middle somewhere. You can't go wrong with going with the middle of the road, can you?

It's been boiling hot here on Beason. I'm kind of regretting saying I wasn't going to fool with the swimming pool this year. I just don't want to go through the hassle of cleaning it and filling it up. I know I will be the one taking care of all that. The kids always say they will help with the cleaning, but, I know they say a lot of things. If they can't handle picking up their laundry, they aren't going to help clean the pool. I have learned this the hard way.

The hay is getting "put up" on schedule if it continues to remain dry. I really hate hay season for two reasons: (1) it kicks up allergies and (2) the world is supposed to revolve around it. I'm not a big fan of #2.

I would like to end this week's article with a favorite quote - "Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for" - Joseph Addison.

Have a wonderful week.
