SHOOTING ON PAYNE RIDGE - Gunshot Wounds To Chest, Scheduled To Appear In Court

The Roane County Emergency Squad and Spencer State Police responded to a shooting on Payne Ridge, Thursday morning. Reports say a young male received gunshot wound to the chest, which may have been self-inflicted. The male was to have appeared in Roane County Court on several charges. He was reportedly shot a second time in the chest after an individual attempted to get the weapon away from him. He was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center for emergency surgery. His condition was unknown, although he had survived the initial trauma.
