| Alvin Ray Ledsome 75, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away May 31, 2010. He was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Wirt County the son of the late Floyd and Dolly Ledsome. Alvin worked for 10 years for Curry Lumber Company and retired after 17 years from Cottrill Timber as a skid operator. His CB handle was "Wood Chopper", he enjoyed being outdoors, and was very pleasant to be around and enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by 1 daughter, Rita (Tim) Hudson of Vienna, WV; 1 son, Austin Ledsome of Cario, WV; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Glen Ledsome and Clarance (Loretta) Ledsome all of Elizabeth; 1 sister, Ruth (Howard) Lockhart of Newark, WV; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile Kelly Ledsome; 2 brothers, Carl E Ledsome and Arthur Gail Ledsome; 3 sisters, Rosie Bailey, Violet Nutter, and Pauline Shuman. Services will be Thursday June 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, WV, with Pastor Dean Ash officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services on Thursday.
