Opal White, 100 - Belpre Ohio

Opal White, 100, of Belpre OH, formerly of Gilmer County, has died.

She was born on March 3, 1910, the daughter of the late Elliott and Viola Matthews White.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with the Rev. Jack Berry and Pastor David Chumpston officiating. Graveside services will then be conducted at Collins Cemetery in Stumptown at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

She attended Rockland United Methodist Church in Belpre and she retired from the Firestone Corporation in 1974. She had worked in Weston, W.Va., at Specialty Glass Company Shops as a glass decorator. She loved to travel and moved to Belpre in 1983. She loved to play dominoes with her friends.

She is survived by her two sisters, Oma G. White of Coolville, Ohio, and Orma Alton with whom she was living in Belpre; her nephew and his wife, Wayne and Alta Vannoy of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two great-nieces; and three great-great-grandnieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Ola Vannoy.
