HOLMES SWORN-IN AS CALHOUN PROSECUTOR

Rocky D. Holmes was sworn-in as Calhoun's prosecuting attorney Monday, and began official duties shortly thereafter.

A grand jury is scheduled to convene on May 17.

Holmes is well-acquainted with the Calhoun community, serving as a public defender for five years.

Modifying his career path by serving as Calhoun prosecutor, he said, "I expect to work hard for the people of the county,"

Holmes is a graduate of the WVU College of Law, he also has degrees in political science, sociology and anthropology.

He has been employed by the Public Defender Corporation since 2005, serving the Fifth Judicial Circuit, and was a Democrat candidate in the 4th Senatorial District in 2008.
