Kerry Margaret Gilbert, 49, of Walton, West Virginia died Friday, March 29, 2002, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after an extended illness.

She was born August 8, 1952, at Zona, Roane County, West Virginia a daughter of Thelma G. Conley Hughes of Spencer and the late Harold Wilbur Hughes. She was a homemaker and a 1970 graduate of the former Walton High School.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Rick Gilbert of Walton; one daughter, Jamie Lenore Gilbert of Ashford; two grandchildren, David and Timmy Gilbert; six brothers, Richard Hughes of Marshall, Michigan, Paul Hughes of Spencer, West Virginia, George Hughes of Fremont, California., Frank Hughes of Cottageville, West Virginia, David Hughes of Indianapolis, Indiana, and John Hughes of Snow Hill, Maryland.; five sisters, Jean Fields of Hemet, California, Joyce Raines of Walton, West Virginia, Doris Thomas of Gay, West Virginia, Ethel Elaine Barker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kathy Ferguson of Kenova, West Virginia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2002, in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer with the Rev. Ronald Buckalew officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Zona.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
