STATE POLICEMAN REMAINS CRITICAL AFTER STRUCK BY DRUNK DRIVER - Benefit Friday In Harrisville

The Charleston Area Medical Center tells the Hur Herald that State Police officer Corporal Andy Pringle remains in critical condition.

Pringle was struck by a drunk driver on Rt. 47 near Macfarlan last weekend while he was making a traffic stop.

Pringle had another trooper with him, whom he was training. That trooper was also hit by the vehicle, but suffered minor injuries.

Jessie Parsons, the Macfarlan man charged with hitting Corporal Pringle has been released from the North Central Regional Jail on bond.

Parsons has been charged with DUI causing bodily injury.

A benefit for Pringle will be held Friday, May 7th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Ritchie County High School Auditorium.

There will be special speakers and singers, as well as a candle lighting and a time of prayer. Donations for trooper Pringle's family will be accepted.
