Virgil R. Maze, 88 - Brohard

Virgil R. Maze, 88, of Brohard, West Virginia, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wirt County WV, a son of the late Lawrence and Ollie (Kemp) Maze. He retired form Pennzoil as a pumper after 41 years service and enjoyed working on his farm in Wirt County all his life. He was a member of the Brohard Church of Christ. He loved to play guitar and sing with various groups in the area.

He is survived by one daughter, Betty Dye of Vienna WV; and one son, Richard (Wilma) Maze of Palestine WV; grandchildren, Terri (Mark) Butterfield, Carla (Keith) Rippeto, Leslie Maze (Lew) Peck, and Joe (Krista) Maze; great grandchildren, Allen Butterfield, Dylon Rippeto, Nate Rippeto, Tyson Maze, Sydney Maze; and a very special friend, Helen Smith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Maze; one grandson, Darrin Maze; one sister, Louise Snider; one brother, James Paul Maze; an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Ministers Tom Butterfield and Mark Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Hartley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
