Jessie D. Parsons, 63, of Ritchie County, has been arrested for DUI after striking Cpl. A. M. Pringle of the WV State Police with his vehicle Saturday night at 8:45 p.m.

Police say Pringle is in serious condition.

The car driven by Parsons (pictured left) struck the police cruiser and then struck Cpl. Pringle while he was outside of his vehicle, said Sgt. Michael Baylous of the WV State Police.

The incident happened on Rt. 47/Rt. 53 in Ritchie County.

Sgt. M. Baylous, spokesperson with the WV State Police, say Pringle was first taken to a Parkersburg hospital and then transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center.
