Marjorie A. Epling, 91 - Spencer

Marjorie A. Epling, 91, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.

She was born April 28, 1918, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ephraim B. and Ethel O'Brien Townsend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Woodrow Epling; son, Larry D. Epling; one grandson; one brother, Thomas O'Brien Townsend.

Marjorie was a retired seamstress who had worked at Kellwood Corp. and Spencer State Hospital. After her retirement, she operated a personal care home. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Spencer.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Lowe of Harrisonburg, Virginia; son, David Epling of Spencer; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Spencer, with Rev. Fr. Tom Chacko as celebrant. Burial will be in the Little Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Spencer.

Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
